There’s something about the idea of injecting yourself – of sticking a needle into your tender flesh – that feels almost perverse. Before I started IVF, it was the one thing I couldn’t get past. I wasted countless hours worrying about how I was going to bring myself to do it. I kept asking nurses: “I understand the technique – but how do you actually do it?”
